With nearly 30 years of experience working directly with clients, Mary Elizabeth is a reliable, results-driven expert in team dynamics, development, and cohesion. As CEO and owner of S.T.A.R. Resources and author of RESET Your Buttons, she has been teaching the skills to earn more, achieve more, and produce more since 1993. Enhancing interpersonal relationships and increasing effectiveness and productivity in the workplace is her passion.
Encouraging women in leadership in the workplace is another of her passions. The Small Business Administration awarded Mary Elizabeth the NC Women in Business Champion of the Year for her commitment to the advancement of women’s business ownership. T+D Magazine named her one of six recipients of the prestigious Training’s New Guard for her ability to inspire others with her passion, determination, and success.

Meet Michael Ferris
MICHAEL FERRIS

Michael joined S.T.A.R Resources in Mid-2024 after a 30-year career in local government management. He most recently served as City Manager of an organization with over 300 year-round, full-time employees. Being the head of personnel and responsible for the hiring of senior staff, Michael is well-versed in the challenges of personnel management and employee development. Through his work, he prioritized employee development and established a clear vision and expectations for organizational culture. He believes highly functioning and successful teams and organizations begin with identifying, retaining, and promoting the right people into the right positions. As author Jim Collins describes in his book “Good to Great”, putting the right people in the right seats on the bus. As such, developing and supporting individuals who are the current and future of an organization are his passion.
He is also a proven strategic thinker who can provide assistance working with your organization in a variety of ways, whether it is supporting up-and-coming employees on their path to leadership positions, or navigating the myriad of workplace challenges to help leaders remain focused on their personal and professional development journey.
